Selling-out
I'm not paying $200 to see Opeth in Melbourne (going rate on ebay). I should have bought tickets earlier :/
Also, apparently Victoria's anti-scalping law is aimed at sporting events, not so much general concerts. Damn :(
Meh. if you can sell out a venue months in advance, surely you should consider playing two sets, or getting a larger venue? (eg. like the Ladytron gig.. original tickets sold out in 48 hours).
Oh well. Have two other gigs lined up that haven't sold out yet at least.

That's a pity... I've not seen them before, so made sure not to miss them this time. I have a history of being at home or on holidays while epic metal is being played in my home town.

By the looks of it, tickets are still available for $65 in Adelaide. If you can somehow score a return flight for $130 or less, it might actually be cheaper to see them here! *g*

heh. I was thinking of just buying a live DVD and watching it from the comfort of my couch :)
I mean.. no queuing in the cold.. better sound.. no dealing with wankers trying to mosh into me.. no trying to look over the top of 7 foot tall guys with huge hair.. and decent, well-priced beer.

On second thoughts, what am I waiting for? I don't even have to wait until the end of September :)

That sucks.

But if some tickets do fall into your hands, I recommend seeing them.

Their set at Wacken was superlative.

I've seen them before, in London, and they were really good live. Yeah. Just annoyed they sold out quickly here.
(When I first heard they were playing, I checked, and tickets weren't available.. I checked back a while later, and they'd become available, and sold out. D'Oh!)

Second night hasn't sold out. I haven't bought any tickets though, as although I like 'em, I'm not sure it's to the tune of $60 and hanging around a venue on my own for hours on a friday night.

Come along to the adelaide gig and see VB as well. I've gotta source how much the freaking tickets are now though. Probably already sold out due to the fact that they only told me about it...errr..shit, a week ago now. Where the crap has time got to??!

I'd like to see Virgin Black too.. I don't think I've seen them play since the turn of the century or near enough!

A single ticket to Opeth's gig in Melbourne just went on ebay for AUD$295.00

Seriously. Who would pay that much??

My answer: Stupid people.

I'm guessing that it would probably cost that much for yourself to come over to adelaide, find a room and pay the $63 for the ticket so it is kind of defeating the point. Unless you want to come to Adelaide, you know being the awesome change of scenery that it is.

Yeah it is crazy.. I just don't think I can be bothered to see Opeth for much more than $60, you know? I like 'em, but they're not THAT mindshatteringly brilliant. I'll live. Just a pity they're too popular here apparently :)
